Based on 992 reviewsUoshin Nogizaka is widely praised for its authentic and high-quality seafood dishes, with many customers highlighting the freshness and flavor of the menu offerings, including sashimi, tempura, and specialty rolls. The izakaya’s open kitchen concept and attentive, friendly staff contribute to a welcoming and engaging dining atmosphere. While the pricing is regarded as fair given the quality, some reviewers noted challenges with language barriers and the existence of separate menus for locals and foreigners, which may affect the ordering experience. Overall, Uoshin Nogizaka is recommended for those seeking a genuine, flavorful izakaya experience, particularly for diners staying nearby or familiar with Japanese dining customs.
I think I will rank this as one of my all time favorites. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. The atmosphere is great too, love that you can see the kitchen and how they prepare everything right Infront of you. Everyone in the kitchen is calm and collected The food and dishes taste amazing and very authentic. The price is pretty fair for what you are getting here. I will definitely come back
They don’t speak English but don’t be scared they accommodated easily and it is one of the best izakayas we tried in Tokyo. The food was so good, we had the the rolls with uni, the clams, the tempura, crab croquettes, everything was delicious . And the sake too. The staff is very nice. Price range for food, 2 drinks each, we paid about a total of 60 euros . Incredible.
This is a special place. You must have a reservation. The food is top notch. I highly recommend the Nogizaka Special over the Sashimi plate.

If you are staying in the area then this restaurant is worth a try, if not, I wouldn’t travel to it as it’s ‘okay’ at best. With the options you have in Tokyo, you can most definitely find a better izakaya. I wasn’t happy that they have a different menu for foreigners. I wanted to try everything and only by chance, a local helped me order some extra dishes. They do have some nice dishes and they certainly make a good effort in preparing and serving them. The tuna bowl with genko bean is good, as is the tuna pulled high with crab meet and uni. Does taste more frozen than fresh tbh. The deep fried blowfish was tasteless. They ran out of some of the dishes I actually wanted but that’s life…..at least the beer was cold. Good place but not amazing.
One of the nicest Sashimi experiences while in Tokyo. The food was delight to the senses, visually as well and taste wise. Would definitely go again.
